Together with our Austrian agent, Sepp Reichholf, we source many of
their best examples and bring them directly to you. All of our producers
are small family run estates, many of whom have operated their vineyards
for generations. Today they combine inbuilt knowledge and understanding
of their vineyards with modern winemaking techniques to produce their
world-beating wines. There are no conglomerates, no grapes picked by
mechanical harvesters and no one who isn't passionate about producing
the very best wines that they can.
One of the many delights of Austrian wine is finding out about the range
of varieties that are indigenous to the country so when we describe our
wines we'll tell you a little bit about the grape to help you make a
more informed selection. Whilst Grüner Veltliner is deservedly iconic
and is widely regarded as being the world's most food-friendly wine, try
some other varieties in a mixed case. You'll be delighted with what you
discover.
And it's not only the whites! Austria produces exclusive reds with their
own unique personalities: Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent not
only taste great; they'll match a whole spectrum of foods. Taste them
and you'll know why Jancis Robinson likes them so much.
We also offer a range of quality wines with a spectrum of alcohol
content, from 11% right up to 14%, so no matter what your preference is
